Ben is Professor of Personal & Organisational Development, and Head of the Psychology School at the University of Hertfordshire. He is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and Health Psychologist. After a first degree in Philosophy and Psychology at Keele University, he did his doctorate in Experimental Psychology at Oxford University. He began his academic career with the Medical Research Council at Sheffield University researching the effects of stress on health and life expectancy. He has published a large number of books and papers in the area of stress, health and personal/organisational development.

Professor Ben (C) Fletcher is the founder of FIT Science, an approach to the psychology of change and personal development, and the 'Do Something Different' technique. This has been applied to many different areas of change including getting long term unemployed back to work, the improvement of Boards of Directors, improving academic and work performance, reducing depression, anxiety and stress, as well as the 'No Diet Diet' weight loss programme. He has extensive experience working with a wide range of public and private companies; and organisations in a consultancy and advisory capacity. He is a regular TV and radio commentator.
